I moved to Devon in 2003 with my husband and parents. We moved to Copplestone in Mid Devon to build a new life and enjoy all the wonder that Devon has to offer. After having my second child in 2007 I embarked on a journey to create a small business that I could manage along with bringing up my two children.
The Pie business really began when we bought an Aga in 2006. I really enjoyed using the Aga and it’s different way of cooking encouraged me to experiment and develop my cooking skills. I have also recently qualified in Level 2 Professional Cookery (Preparation and Cooking) from East Devon College.
The idea behind my products was to create good quality and great tasting food made by using as much local produce where possible, thus producing a quality end product and in doing so helping local Farmers and businesses whilst keeping the food miles to a minimum. With two children, it was my priority to ensure the end product was as tasty as possible, my thoughts were that if my pies, quiches and cakes were good enough for my family they will be good enough for your family as well.
Starting up this venture has enabled a dream I’ve had of running my own business, to come true, there is nothing better than someone trying my food and saying how much they have enjoyed it, although as I am sure you will agree the journey never ends when you are looking for the very best, I am also a great believer in developing the products I sell and also listening to my customers to ensure that my products improve. As our website evolves you will see new products and shows where you can come and meet me and try my great tasting food.
As a further development we will list as many of the suppliers used to source our products, but not our recipes, well, I want to you come back and try some more! Oh and the name, well I am as my husband says, not shy and I wanted a name that you won’t forget and that was fun, it tends to bring a smile to most peoples faces.
